Overall Job function

Responsible for assisting with the design and development of Test Jig hardware and Software. The Designs take into account digital, analog and RF functionality of the jigs to test production units thoroughly.

Responsible for writing and maintaining test scripts for complex aeronautical products and internally developed test jigs using an in-house developed test writing tool.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work as a member of a team to assist with designing and developing Test Jigs, test jig hardware and firmware as well as computer software to test and verify SATCOM products 
  • Produce supporting documentation as required by the configuration department
  • Support production in maintaining new and existing Test equipment
  • Write and maintain production and verification test scripts, using an in-house developed test writing tool, for aeronautical products as specified by the design and system engineers
  • Write and maintain scripts using batch tools like Jenkins
  • Follow formal software life cycle and release processes
  • Perform debugging of production test failures, analysis of test results, including the use of SQL and other tools
Job Requirements
  • Engineering degree with at least 3 years relevant experience with knowledge of good development processes
  • Ability to understand and translate the functionality and interaction between complex hardware systems into automated test scripts.
  • A working knowledge of basic software programming principles (conditional logic, loops, variables etc.)
  • Working experience in:
    • Complex electronic systems
    • Java Script, Python, VB Script or any other scripting language
  • Technical competencies required include
    • Basic Digital and Analog electronics design skills and tools
    • C/C++
    • Coding experience in high level languages (e.g. Delphi)
    • Firmware development experience (e.g Freescale, Atmel, Microchip, etc.)
    • Scripting language knowledge (e.g. Python)
    • Electronic schematic knowledge (needed for debugging and making design choices)
  • Must be a team player, self driver and a good communicator
  • Must have good report writing skills
  • The following will be advantageous:
    • Previous experience of automated product test and verification equipment
    • Experience in a production environment
    • Basic Electronic knowledge
    • Experience in an aeronautical company (or similar environment that is required to adhere to international standards and certifications)
    • Basic skills in VHDL and FPGA design Basic DSP familiarity
