
System Architect (Radio & Communication)
Purpose
Thales AEC is planning to launch the development of new products requiring crucial skillsets related to cybersecurity and radio-communication.
We create a new Engineering team established in Toulouse which will lead R&T and developments of new Radio solutions.
We need to develop and spread radio engineering competences in the Business line (i.e., VHF and HF radio solutions)
Job Description- System Architect for the radio-communication developments, encompassing VHF and HF Data Radios
- Lead System Engineering and IVV (Integration, Verification and Validation) activities for the target radio solutions
- Conduct assessment of potential partners / suppliers, as well as tradeoff and performance analyses
- Main technical interface to partners and suppliers in that field
- Lead advanced studies related to next generation radio architectures
- Support the Engineering Director with the definition of the associated roadmap
Holding an Engineering degree in Telecommunication or Aerospace field, you have a strong knowledge of Telecommunication principles (OSI model, link budget, radio performance, Baseband and RF design) and technical background in VHF and HF radio systems:
- Demonstrated System Engineering skills (ideally INCOSE certification
- Experience with aircraft radio testing activities and co-site analyses and development of avionics systems
- Technical leader with engineering accountability at system level
- Ability to architecture radio system with strong understanding of the physical and MAC layer characteristics
- Detailed understanding of aircraft communication architectures
